Caroline Flint

Midwife & birth activist

Caroline Flint is a midwife, birth activist, author and founder of The Birth Centre. Her defining moment came at 8 years old with the birth of her sister at home which sparked a lifelong commitment to provide women with empowering, life changing births. In 1989 she opened The Birth Centre which specialised in one on one midwifery care, with dark, peaceful birthing rooms and a midwifery team who treated birth as a positive, normal, physiological process. Caroline has been at the forefront of all changes affecting women in childbirth. She was President of The Royal College of Midwives, she is a  founder member of the Association of Radical Midwives and the first Chair of the Midwives Information and Resource Service.
