Bill Drummond
Artist, Author, The17
Bill Drummond is an artist. His most recent project is a choir called The17. It was inspired by the notion of waking up and all music had disappeared. The17 choir music follows no traditions. Recognises no contempories. It drums to a new beat. He was also co-founder of 1980s avant-garde pop group The KLF and its 1990s “avant-art” media-manipulating successor, the K Foundation with which he burned a million pounds in 1994. He has also written several books, produced a variety of different conceptual art projects, and helped to set up The Foundry, an arts centre in Shoreditch in London.
