Hello Dolectures team,
I am having problem playing videos in your website. I am using google chrome and have window vista as os. I can see the buffer going on but pressing a play button does not show any video.
best,
Sulav
Hello,
We didn’t manage to replicate the problem here? Are you running the most up-to-date Chrome?
If all else fails you can download the talks for free, from our iTunes podcast — http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-do-lectures/id296223167?uo=4
Apologies
Jon
I am experiencing the same problem with these videos on chrome in linux. Firefox plays it but it keeps cutting out. Cannot d/l through itunes either being on linux. Altogether this is a pretty serious fault.
As a web developer myself, and as the owners of this site are probably too polite to point this out, comments that something isn’t working are always useful. Comments on your view of the seriousness of the fault are patronising and irrelevant. Do you honestly think that it helps them or that they need to be told that this is a pretty serious fault?
Besides, ultimately, it’s not pretty serious as other browsers exist. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend trying one and watching – it’s great content.
Well done Steve!
I agree with Jonathan in the fact that pointing out the problem helps, but making it a point to voice your opinion of it’s severity doesn’t. Issues with cross browser compatibility happen, It’s nearly impossible to test for every such occasion that might occur. I know this as I too am a web designer.
Plus there are other browser and other OSs to view this content on.
Transfixing.
Probably is questionable to “complain” but frustration created is nonsense.
OSX 10.7 – chrome-latest, safari latest, and experience = bad. Not going into detail, you can test for your self, video is inaccesible.
Why than taped this : good faith, thats why. Guys, you can use Vimeo and all wil be solved in a second!
Many problems with the Do Lectures videos for me too.
I’ve had the following problems happening with 2 computers, one Win XP, one Win 7 64bits, and with 3 browsers on each of these machines: Latest Chrome, Latest Firefox, and up-to-date IE.
- Video won’t play
- Video freezes
- Video starts normally then sounds cuts after a few seconds and never comes back
It’s the first time I have a problem with embedded videos.
